Introduction/specifics

Our AWO facility “Kleine Freunde” is located in the industrial estate in Ehrenfeld. The three-building facility looks after a total of 45 children aged 4 months to 6 years in the most modern building “the Ship” in NRW. As a primary company facility, we also offer daycare places to families from the surrounding area in addition to company employees. Our special features are our focus on sustainability and ecology. We spend a lot of time in the surrounding countryside, such as the Lindenthal Zoo.

Rooms

All rooms in our house are bright thanks to large windows. In addition to its group room, the octopus group has a quiet room and an adjoining room. The children in the penguin group can also play not only in the adjoining room, but also in the adjoining gym. Our U3 group consists of a group room, a dining room and a bedroom. All groups are equipped with toilets and changing facilities according to their age group.

Outdoor Facilities

Our outdoor area shows a high degree of identification with the company. Both sandboxes in the outdoor area are decorated with climbing and sliding facilities representing the “Affenzahn” brand animals.

Daily Schedule

Our day at the facility starts at eight o'clock. The children meet in the early morning group until half past nine before going to their own group rooms for breakfast. This is followed by morning circles where the daily routine is discussed. In addition to projects, craft activities, excursions and physical activities are embedded in the daily routine and carried out by the teaching staff. After lunch, the children rest and sleep in different ways before having their midday snack and then going off to play.

Food

Fresh food is cooked daily in our facility. The local bakery supplies us with fresh bread and the choice of food is always based on local, organic and fresh ingredients. A total of three meals are prepared by our cook. In addition to breakfast and lunch, there is also an afternoon snack.

Basics

Our facility follows the situation-oriented approach. We look together at where the children are at the moment, what interests them and what they like to do. This is then encouraged and implemented accordingly in everyday life. The children can express their wishes in morning circles and also in the children's parliament and also address things that they would like to change here in the house in a “complaints hour”. All educational activities are based on the principles prescribed by the Child Education Act for daycare centers.

Employee

Our house currently has 11 educational staff and a cook.

Qualification

The qualifications of the staff are very diverse. From nursery nurses to educators, social pedagogues, curative education nurses and childhood educators, many different educational staff are employed at the facility. We also employ a dual student at the facility.

Quality Assurance

The quality of the educational work and the premises is constantly evaluated and brought up to date by a specialist specially trained by the provider.

Cooperations

In addition to the adjacent AWB, we cooperate with Lesewelten, but also with the company whose children we primarily look after. We regularly ask the children for their opinions on products.

Teamwork with school

As we are a company facility, there is currently no cooperation with schools in the area.

Teamwork with parents

Regular exchanges in door-to-door talks, joint parent activities that benefit the children, as well as general meetings and advisory board meetings are all part of our standard cooperation with parents.

Overview

We give priority to children from the Fond Of company. However, as we have a few places available each year, children from outside the company can also apply and have a chance of getting a place.
