Introduction/specifics

Every child is a unique individual and from the very beginning a very special, active and unique personality who already has their full potential within them. For this reason, we do not see it as our task to “educate” the children entrusted to us and to shape and form them according to our ideas. Rather, we act from the perspective of encouraging children in their self-efficacy and exploring their own potential. In order for this potential to develop, the child needs respectful and loving support and guidance from us adults.

We treat the children with respect throughout our day-to-day daycare activities and take everything they do, show us or tell us seriously. We are convinced that our respectful treatment of the individual child also has an effect on the way the children treat each other and thus serves as a role model.

Basics

Our educational work is based on the Children's Education Act NRW (KiBiz) and the NRW Education Agreements with their principles, which are binding for all daycare facilities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The aim of our educational work is to enable the children to expand and develop their individual abilities. The educational staff at our daycare center take this into account and provide individual stimuli.

Quality Assurance

Ensuring and developing the quality of our educational work is a key concern for our team. We strive to document our existing standards in order to consolidate them. This enables us to further specify our pedagogical approach and ensure that we can do equal justice to all children.
We are currently in the process of documenting existing quality standards in order to evaluate them regularly. To this end, we use a team folder system that is available in every educational group and is maintained by the specialist staff.
In our regular pedagogical team meetings, we discuss key pedagogical processes and develop corresponding quality standards. These standards are continuously reviewed and evaluated in order to meet the current needs of the children, the latest educational research findings and local conditions.

Cooperations

The cooperation of our daycare center with other specialist areas such as schools, early intervention centers, general social services (ASD), doctors, therapists and consultants is of crucial importance to us. This enables us to do justice to the children entrusted to us beyond our own professionalism.

Teamwork with school

In order to build on the previous educational process, there is close cooperation with the surrounding elementary school. Teachers visit the schools with the future primary school children. The building and classrooms are visited and the children can play with the schoolchildren in the playground during the break. In this way, initial uncertainties about the new situation can be allayed.

Teamwork with parents

Transparent work is crucial for good and trusting cooperation between families/parents/guardians and our daycare center. Only if parents are informed about the content, motivations and contexts of our work can they gain a comprehensive picture of what is happening at the daycare center. We look after children from many nations and cultural backgrounds and attach great importance to a prejudice-conscious educational partnership with all parents. We treat them with interest and appreciation and strive to maintain close contact with the families. It is important to us to build up a relationship of mutual trust in order to maintain a good and regular exchange with the parents.
