Our old daycare centre was built in Cologne-Heimersdorf in 1967.
Our new building has been open since 1 August 2020.

It is located next to a large park and is 100% traffic-calmed.

Training centre of the Archdiocese of Cologne and the City of Cologne, certified family centre Heimersdorf-Chorweiler-Seeberg-Merkenich, own support association. Our daycare centre (Kita) is closely connected to the community and integrates itself with many activities.

Outdoor Facilities

We have a very large and beautiful outdoor area where we enjoy spending time all year round, playing, romping around, splashing in mud and harvesting apples or berries. A spacious, natural outdoor area covering over 6,000 square metres.

Daily Schedule

7:30–8:45 a.m arrival, initial playtime and breakfast
8:45 a.m morning circle or group time
Approx. 9 a.m start of free play and cross-curricular activities
12:00 p.m return to core groups
12:30–2:30 p.m lunch/rest period/free time
2:00–4:30 p.m free play

Description and Stations

The facility is located in the centre of Heimersdorf and is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, by car or by public transport.

Access via the large Taborplatz car park.

You can get off right in the heart of Heimersdorf with tram line 15 and buses 122 or 125.
It is a five-minute walk to the daycare centre.

It is approximately a 16-minute walk from the S11 rapid transit station on Volkhovener Weg.

Basics

Our educational approach primarily incorporates elements from the situation-oriented approach and partially open work. We live in and with the Christian calendar. Our work is characterised by projects and participation from the Reggio educational approach and the valuable treatment of oneself and the environment from the Montessori educational approach.

The kindergarten is a living space that offers your child a variety of ways to gain independent experience. Gently challenging children and thus strengthening them means not simply handing them the solutions to problems, but giving them the chance to find their own ways. Our well-prepared functional areas help with this and provide lots of inspiration. Building and constructing, dressing up and role-playing, Snoezelen room, story room/library, as well as creative design and crafts in the studio. Lots of opportunities to learn through movement, a large hall and gym, and a magnificent outdoor area.
