Basics

The daycare centre management, the school management, the educational team at the daycare centre and the teaching staff are in professional contact with each other.

Employee

Staff qualifications are based on the regulation on the principles of qualification and staffing ratios (KiBiz staffing regulation). Our specialised staff are assigned to the two groups, but also work across groups. The management is partially released from group work. In addition, the team of specialised staff is supplemented by trainees (interns/PIA trainees) and/or employees on voluntary service.

A housekeeper supports the team in the kitchen area.

Additional Offerings

Early musical education for children in the last two years of nursery school, singing groups for all age groups.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance measures:

  • Further education and training for educational staff
  • Concept days
  • Continuous evaluation of the concept in dialogue with the educational team.
  • Evaluation measures for parent satisfaction
  • Cooperation with technical colleges and universities of applied sciences
  • Supervision of interns (student and block internships)
  • Training of professional interns and PIA interns
  • Regular, professional exchange between the pedagogical team in meetings and in everyday life regular team supervision

Cooperations

The St. Georg daycare centre works closely with the Cologne-Weiß youth and cultural centre, which is located directly opposite the daycare centre. This means that the rooms and outdoor area of the youth centre can be used for daycare activities if required (exercise activities for daycare children in the large sports rooms of the youth centre, St. Martin's Day celebrations and bonfires on the outdoor area of the youth centre, summer parties, etc.).

Teamwork with school

There is close cooperation between the St. Georg daycare centre and the Albert Schweitzer School in Cologne-Weiß. Regular meetings are held to discuss topics such as how to organise the transition from nursery to primary school. The daycare centre management, the school management, the daycare centre's educational team and the teaching staff are in professional contact with each other.

Teamwork with parents

Close cooperation between parents and educational staff is a prerequisite for good educational work.

Parents are the experts in the family and the educational professionals are the experts in the daycare centre. Through continuous communication between the professionals and the parents, we create a close educational partnership in order to jointly and sustainably support the child's development.
