Rooms

A completely refurbished, as-new former municipal daycare center near the Rhein - Center on Aachener Straße in Cologne Weiden.

Completion in June 2023.

Outdoor Facilities

The Kita an der alten Post has an exceptionally spacious outdoor area with two different areas:
 

• The upper area is equipped with a sand play area and various playground equipment.
• The lower - much larger - area has a large tree population and invites you to discover, design, care for and play in nature.

Basics

We welcome all children.
We want to help parents to lay the foundation for a happy, successful and self-determined life in their children. We want to encourage them in a joyful atmosphere of appreciation for everyone and a grateful attitude towards God the Creator.

Our mission statement is made up of the five components explained below. The basic pedagogical approach is based on Existential Pedagogy (www.existenzielle-erziehung.tsn.at), whose anthropology corresponds to the Christian image of man, which we keep in mind in all pedagogical considerations.

Employee

When staffing the groups, we ensure that at least two professionals are present in the group at all times. In the event of a staff shortage, only educators who are known to the children are called in as substitutes. The greatest possible consistency is ensured in terms of individuals, groups and situations.

Qualification

All employees have a state-approved pedagogical education.

Quality Assurance

The Kita's pedagogical staff has a high level of professional and technical qualification.
The daycare center offers continuing education opportunities that are recorded in a continuously evaluated continuing education plan. Employees are expected to show a high level of commitment to continuing education and training.

Cooperations

To support parents in their responsible educational task, we offer parent education courses according to the case method through our cooperation partner, the Institut für Elternbildung (https://www.institut-fuer-elternbildung.de/).

Teamwork with school

The content of the last year of kindergarten in particular is coordinated with the elementary schools in the catchment area.
Mutual visits (teachers in the daycare centers; elementary school children in the daycare centers; kindergarten teachers in the school; kindergarten children in the school) are essential elements of the exchange. They make it easier for the children to make the transition to school, which is usually a positive one.

Teamwork with parents

Good cooperation with parents is a special constitutive feature for the Kita. Parents are the primary educators of their children. Their responsibility cannot be delegated. All other educators must work hand in hand with parents in service to the children.

By fostering good character traits, we lay the foundation for ongoing character development in cooperation with parents.

Parents are actively involved in the educational and upbringing work of our daycare: as the first responsible for the education of their children, we want to hear what they think and want and share our experiences with the child with them.

The bodies legally anchored in KiBiz to ensure parental participation (parents' general meeting, parents' council and council of the daycare) are formed immediately after the opening of the daycare.
