Current information

Introduction/specifics

The clearly structured and lovingly designed prepared environment of our Montessori children's house appeals to children in a special way. It encourages independent activity, awakens curiosity, and promotes the joy of learning. The carefully selected Montessori materials from the areas of daily life exercises, sensory materials, language, mathematics, and cosmic education support the children in their holistic development and, in particular, in their cognitive development. A central feature of Montessori education is the isolation of difficulty. Each material conveys a clearly defined learning content, which children enjoy concentrating on and working with persistently.

Rooms

Our children's house has three group rooms, each with an adjoining side room.

In addition, the children have access to other functional rooms:

  • Art studio
  • Construction room
  • Snoezel room
  • Multipurpose room, which is used, among other things, as an exercise room

Outdoor Facilities

Our natural outdoor area offers:

  • A variety of spaces for movement and exploration
  • Including a watercourse
  • Herb beds
  • A composting facility
  • Sand pits
  • Slides
  • A tree house
  • A low ropes course
  • Fruit trees

Daily Schedule

The early shift takes place from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. across all groups.

From 8:15 a.m. onwards, all groups are supervised by their respective teachers.

During the course of the morning, the children have breakfast at different times and organize their free play and learning time according to their interests and needs.

We use our outdoor area every day, depending on the weather. We eat lunch at 12:00 p.m. at the group level.

Afterwards, children who need to sleep take part in the quiet time, while all other children are invited to participate in a quiet time that they can actively help to shape.

Food

Thanks to the nearby St. Viktor facility, the children enjoy freshly cooked lunches every day.

Basics

“Help me to do it myself” and “Give me time” – these guiding principles of Maria Montessori form the basis of our educational work. We support children in developing their natural activity, initiative, and growing independence.

Our materials are designed to be highly stimulating. The children decide for themselves what they want to do, based on their stage of development, their inner blueprint, and their personal interests, in a self-determined and participatory manner. They are supported in this by attentive, appreciative, and competent educational professionals. Maria Montessori always understood freedom in connection with responsibility. At our school, children experience freedom that enables them to learn independently (with guidance), as well as transparent boundaries that provide orientation and promote successful social interaction.

Employee

In accordance with KiBiz, our facility exclusively employs qualified personnel in accordance with the required staffing hours.

Qualification

All employees are trained educators, have completed the Montessori diploma, or are currently in the process of obtaining their qualification.

Quality Assurance

This is carried out by the German Montessori Association in Aachen and the Katholino organization, through regular evaluations of educational quality by the external provider PädQUIS.

Cooperations

You can find information about our cooperation partners on the institution's website.

Teamwork with school

Due to their proximity, our cooperation partners here are KGS Mengenicher Straße, Schule Kunterbunt, and Montessori-Grundschule am Pisterhof.

Teamwork with parents

A trusting partnership with parents on an equal footing forms the basis of our educational partnership. We see families and childcare centers as shared places of life and learning, where the well-being of the child is always the focus.

Even before admission, we take plenty of time for a personal get-to-know-you phase.

Through discussions, visits, and offers from our family center, you have the opportunity to get to know our children's house, our attitude, and our working methods as well as possible.

During our time together at the children's house, we engage in open and appreciative exchange.

We take parents' concerns, ideas, and perspectives seriously and actively incorporate them into our educational work.
